Typical Therapy Correction Technique
The therapy is quite relaxing because most of the time the client lays on a massage table. The therapy uses the same meridians as for acupuncture but because there is no puncture, it is called acupressure. To be more accurate, it could be called “acu-pointing”. While the BIT practitioner is “pointing” or lightly touching specific points, she presses lightly on the client’s wrist as he holds his arm at a 45 degree angle and resists the pressing. This is called a muscle test and lets the therapist “talk” to the client’s brain to see what is working and what is not. The client’s shoulder muscle will give and his arm will move down if a portion of the brain is not working correctly. His shoulder muscle will stay strong and the arm will not move if the brain area is working. Once the non-working areas have been identified, the practitioner holds the client’s head gently between her hands to feel when the brain has re-circuited. It is possible for the client to fall asleep during the process!
